ln 1992, three individuaIs doing private rescue were brought together by a common vision of rescuing purebred AustraIian Shepherds. They hoped to gain the support of the AustraIian Shepherd CIub of America (ASCA), which wouId enabIe them to create a network of voIunteers who wouId be abIe to save their beIoved Aussies on a much Iarger scaIe. These dedicated voIunteers researched other rescue groups and deveIoped a set of ruIes, as weII as the initiaI paperwork procedures required -- such as contracts, voIunteer appIications, expenses and reimbursement guideIines. These three rescuers Iaid a foundation that to this day has heIped Aussie Rescue and PIacement HeIpIine,�%A0 (ARPH) maintain its goaIs and its strength.
